Homogeneous PVC Waterproof Membrane (Type H) | Non-Reinforced, Hot-Air Weldable, Designed for Irregular Roof Details

1. Product Overview

Type H homogeneous PVC waterproof membrane is a single-layer waterproof material. It has no reinforcement layer inside. It follows the national standard GB 12952-2011. This product is made of new PVC resin and special plasticizer with low substance migration. It is a whole integrated material, and it has no grid layer or non-woven cloth backing inside. This membrane is soft and can resist bad outdoor weather. Workers can connect membrane joints tightly with hot air welding. It fits irregular roof parts well, such as corners, pipe bases and expansion joints.

This product can be used together with Type P reinforced PVC membrane and Type L cloth-backed PVC membrane. The three products can form a complete roof waterproof system. They are widely used for steel structure buildings, public buildings, old roof renovation and overseas roof projects.

2. Technical Specifications

Water Impermeability: No water leakage under standard water pressure test

Service Life: More than 20 years for outdoor exposed roof use

3. Core Product Advantages

Integral whole material, no peeling risk
This membrane is different from composite PVC waterproof membranes with cloth or grid inside. Its whole sheet has the same material property. It will not peel or split after long-time use. Temperature change and base deformation will not damage the membrane. It keeps the whole waterproof system stable and cuts later maintenance costs.

High softness for all irregular roof parts
There is no hard reinforcement layer inside the membrane, so it is very soft and easy to bend. Workers can cut and bend it on site freely. It can fit curved surfaces, corners, pipe bases and dome roofs closely. It solves common water leakage problems at weak roof positions.

Tight hot air welding joints, no water seepage
Workers can weld all overlapping joints with hot air. The welded parts are connected as one whole piece, with no tiny gaps for water seepage. Welded joints work better than glue bonding and self-adhesive joints. They can resist aging and long-time rain washing, suitable for long-term outdoor roof projects.

Good weather resistance for long outdoor use
We add anti-UV additives, anti-oxidant additives and weather-resistant materials during production. The membrane can resist sunlight, rain and ozone damage. Professional aging tests prove that it can be used outdoors for over 20 years without extra protective layers. It adapts to hot summer and cold winter extreme weather.

Good chemical resistance for harsh working sites
This material has stable chemical property. It can resist acid, alkali, acid mist and industrial sewage corrosion. It works stably on roofs of chemical factories, garbage stations and breeding plants, and its performance will not drop easily.

Good matching performance with full series PVC membranes
It can match Type P reinforced PVC membrane and Type L cloth-backed PVC membrane perfectly. Type P membrane is used for large main roof areas to resist strong wind. Type L membrane fits concrete roof base with full bonding construction. Type H membrane is used for waterproof reinforcement of irregular details. The three materials build a complete and reliable roof waterproof system.

4. Application Scenarios

Irregular roof detail waterproofing: Waterproof reinforcement for corners, pipe bases, air outlets, expansion joints and parapet walls of steel structure factories and warehouses

Special-shaped building waterproofing: Sealing waterproof construction for dome roofs, curved roofs and areas around skylights

Old roof renovation: Partial repair and waterproof system upgrade for old asphalt roofs and old waterproof membrane roofs

Public building roofs: Detail waterproofing for stadiums, exhibition halls, railway stations, shopping malls and other large public buildings

Corrosive industrial roofs: Roof waterproofing for chemical plants, sewage treatment plants and garbage stations with acid and alkali corrosion

5. Construction Guidelines

This PVC waterproof membrane adopts hot air welding construction method. The below parameters are standard values, and workers can adjust them according to actual project conditions.

Overlap Width: Longitudinal overlap ≥80mm; transverse overlap ≥100mm

Welding Parameter: Standard welding temperature: 450-550℃. Workers must do trial welding and strength test before large-area construction.

Construction Environment: The best construction temperature is above 5℃. Do not weld on rainy, snowy, windy and foggy days.

Detail Treatment: Add extra Type H membrane layers at corners and pipe bases to strengthen waterproof effect.

Finished Product Protection: Do not walk or stack heavy goods on the welded surface within 24 hours after construction, so as to protect intact welding joints.

6. FAQ & Storage Notice

Q1: What are the differences between Type H, Type P and Type L PVC membranes?
A1: Type H has no inner reinforcement layer, and it is the softest for curved and irregular roof parts. Type P has inner polyester grid, and it can resist strong wind for large flat roof areas. Type L has cloth backing, and it bonds well with concrete roof bases. The three types can be used together to meet all roof waterproof construction needs.

Q2: Can Type H PVC membrane be used directly for outdoor exposed roofs?
A2: Yes. It has built-in anti-UV additives. It can be used outdoors directly without extra protective layers. It has good anti-aging performance, and its service life can reach more than 20 years under normal use conditions.

Q3: Will this membrane get hard and crack in cold weather?
A3: No. It still keeps soft at -30℃, and it will not become brittle or crack. It fits cold northern areas for winter roof waterproof projects.

Storage Requirement: Every roll is packed with moisture-proof material. Please store the membrane in cool, dry and shaded warehouses. Keep it away from fire and high-temperature heat sources. Do not stack more than 5 rolls in height. The shelf life is 2 years with proper storage.

7. Product Summary

Type H homogeneous PVC waterproof membrane meets GB 12952-2011 national standard. It is an integrated whole material, so it never has peeling and splitting problems. It has high softness, good low-temperature resistance and stable hot air welding performance. It can cooperate with Type P and Type L PVC membranes to complete full roof waterproof projects. It is widely used for steel structure buildings, public buildings, old roof renovation and corrosive industrial roofs. It is a necessary waterproof material for detail reinforcement of modern single-layer roof waterproof systems.
