Glass Wool Blanket – Thermal & Acoustic Insulation for Building and HVAC

Product Overview

Glass wool blanket is a lightweight, flexible insulation roll made from fine glass fibers bonded into a resilient, porous structure. The material provides both thermal insulation and sound absorption and is commonly used in roofs, ceilings, internal walls, HVAC ducts, and equipment enclosures.

Supplied in roll form, the blanket provides continuous coverage over large areas, helping reduce the number of joints and installation gaps. Its flexibility also makes it easier to cut and fit around large, curved or irregular surfaces.

Glass wool blanket is available unfaced or with aluminum foil, non-woven fabric, fiberglass cloth, or kraft paper facing. Density, thickness, width, roll length, facing material, and packaging can be customized according to order requirements and production feasibility.

Product Features

1. Lightweight and easy to handle
Its lightweight roll format makes the blanket easier to transport, handle, and install on roofs, ceilings, and other large surfaces.

2. Thermal insulation
The fibrous structure reduces heat transfer, helping maintain indoor temperatures—keeping interiors warm in winter and cool in summer. This contributes to energy efficiency in buildings and HVAC systems.

3. Sound absorption and acoustic control
The porous fiber structure absorbs part of the airborne sound energy and helps reduce reflected noise and reverberation. The overall sound insulation performance depends on the blanket thickness, density, installation method, and the overall construction system.

4. Easy to cut and install
The blanket can be cut to size using standard insulation installation tools. It is supplied in rolls that can be unrolled and fitted around pipes, ducts, and irregular structures with minimal waste.

Available Facing Options

Glass wool blanket can be supplied unfaced or with various factory-applied surface facings. Available facing options include:

Facing Type Description
Unfaced Glass wool blanket without an additional surface facing; suitable for concealed insulation assemblies
Aluminum Foil Provides a reflective finished surface and helps protect the exposed blanket surface
Non-woven Fabric Provides a cleaner finished surface for visible indoor applications; available colors should be confirmed before ordering
Fiberglass Cloth Provides a more durable surface for handling and exposed applications
Kraft Paper Provides a paper-finished surface for selected building insulation applications

Please specify the required surface facing when requesting a quotation.

FAQ

Q1. Can the density and thickness be customized?
Yes. Density, thickness, width, and roll length can be produced according to order requirements, subject to minimum order quantity and production feasibility.

Q2. What facing options are available?
The blanket can be supplied unfaced or laminated with aluminum foil, non-woven fabric, fiberglass cloth, or kraft paper. Please specify the required surface facing when requesting a quotation.

Q3. Can a glass wool blanket be used for both thermal and acoustic insulation?
Yes. Its fibrous structure helps reduce heat transfer and absorb airborne sound. The overall acoustic performance depends on density, thickness, installation method, and the complete wall, roof, or HVAC construction.

Q4. Is the blanket easy to cut and install?
The roll is lightweight and flexible and can be cut using ordinary insulation installation tools. Installers should use suitable protective equipment and follow applicable installation requirements.

Q5. How is the product packed?
Glass wool blankets are normally compressed and packed in protective bags. The number of rolls per package and container loading quantity depend on density, thickness, and roll dimensions.

We will confirm the available specification, price, production lead time, and estimated loading quantity based on your requirements.
