Semi-rigid Glass Wool Insulation Board for Walls and Ceilings

Product Overview

Glass wool board is a semi-rigid insulation panel made from fine glass fibers bonded into a stable porous structure. Its flat panel form makes it suitable for walls, ceilings, HVAC equipment and acoustic assemblies where shape stability and uniform insulation thickness are required.

The flat panel form enables clean cutting, secure fitting, and reliable coverage on walls, ceilings, and equipment surfaces. Its dimensional stability helps maintain consistent insulation thickness across the installed area.

Glass wool board can be customized in density, thickness, width, length, and facing material according to order requirements.

Product Features

1. Semi-rigid and shape-stable
The board maintains a flat shape during handling and installation, making it easier to achieve uniform coverage on walls, ceilings, and other planar surfaces. Its semi-rigid structure helps the board maintain a flat shape during handling and installation.

2. Thermal insulation
The porous fiber structure helps reduce heat transfer. Actual thermal performance depends on board density, thickness, installation method and the complete building or equipment system.

3. Sound absorption and acoustic control
The porous fiber structure absorbs part of the airborne sound energy and helps reduce reflected noise and reverberation. The overall sound insulation performance depends on the board thickness, density, installation method, and complete construction system.

4. Easy to cut and install
The board can be cut to size using standard insulation installation tools such as utility knives or saws. Its semi-rigid form allows it to be fitted between framing members when the board dimensions match the cavity size. Additional support or mechanical fixing may be required depending on the installation system.

Available Facing Options

Glass wool board can be supplied unfaced or with various factory-applied surface facings. Available facing options include:

Facing Type Description
Unfaced Glass wool board without an additional surface facing; suitable for concealed insulation assemblies
Aluminum Foil Provides a reflective finished surface and helps protect the exposed board surface
Non-woven Fabric Provides a cleaner finished surface for visible indoor applications; available colors should be confirmed before ordering
Fiberglass Cloth Provides a more durable surface for handling and exposed applications
Kraft Paper Provides a paper-finished surface for selected building insulation applications

Please specify the required surface facing when requesting a quotation.

FAQ

Q1. Can the density and thickness be customized?
Yes. Density, thickness, width, and length can be produced according to order requirements, subject to minimum order quantity and production feasibility.

Q2. What facing options are available?
The board can be supplied unfaced or laminated with aluminum foil, non-woven fabric, fiberglass cloth, or kraft paper. Please specify the required surface facing when requesting a quotation.

Q3. Can glass wool board be used for both thermal and acoustic insulation?
Yes. Its fibrous structure helps reduce heat transfer and absorb airborne sound. The overall acoustic performance depends on density, thickness, installation method, and the complete wall, ceiling, or HVAC construction.

Q4. Is the board easy to cut and install?
The board is semi-rigid and can be cut using ordinary insulation installation tools such as utility knives or saws. It can be fitted between framing members when board dimensions match the cavity size, and additional fixing may be required depending on the installation system. Installers should use suitable protective equipment.

Q5. How is the product packed?
Glass wool boards are packed in protective bags or bundles. The number of boards per package and container loading quantity depend on density, thickness, and board dimensions, and are confirmed for each order.

Q6. What is the difference between glass wool board and glass wool blanket?
Glass wool board is semi-rigid and maintains a flat shape, making it suitable for walls, ceilings, equipment surfaces and other applications where shape stability is preferred. Glass wool blanket is flexible and supplied in rolls, making it suitable for continuous coverage over large or irregular surfaces.
